Our Services

Comprehensive sleep and respiratory care, end to end

From consultation and problem-solving to diagnostics, testing and ongoing treatment — across our clinics, regional network and telehealth Australia-wide.

Where it starts

Consultation and problem-solving

Sleep or respiratory issues — we welcome you to our suites, listen to your problems and what you’d like to solve, examine you, and come up with a plan of action that may involve testing and/or treatment.

Respiratory medicine

We assess you face-to-face initially, so you can be examined. Available at Cabrini Brighton, Camberwell, Narre Warren and Berwick.

Sleep medicine

Telehealth and in person. Visit Cabrini Brighton, Camberwell, Narre Warren or Berwick, or we can consult via telehealth Australia-wide.

CPAP troubleshooting

We usually ask you to bring your equipment in so we can assess it, check the mask fit and review performance. For telehealth, you’ll likely need to speak with your CPAP provider and send us downloads in advance, so we can instruct providers to make changes.

We can request X-rays, CT scanning, needle biopsies, bronchoscopy and EBUS, undertake lung function, and arrange home or laboratory sleep studies at various locations.

Respiratory

Respiratory services

Lung function testing

Spirometry and gas transfer (standard lung function) at Camberwell. Spirometry, gas transfer, lung volume measurements, FeNO, bronchial provocation challenge, plus MIPs, MEPs and MVV at Cabrini Malvern and Cabrini Brighton.

Oxygen assessment & six-minute walk test

Objective assessment of exercise tolerance and oxygen needs, performed in-clinic.

Diagnostic bronchoscopy & EBUS

Our team hold bronchoscopy lists at major Melbourne locations, and use our colleagues for same-week urgent bronchoscopy and EBUS.

CT-guided biopsy

Targeted needle biopsy of lung masses and nodules, performed by our radiology partners.

Multidisciplinary meetings (MDTs)

For complex interstitial lung disease and lung cancers, our team take part in MDT meetings to determine the best treatment options.

In-patient care

An on-call roster across our partner hospitals for admitted patients.

Pulmonary rehabilitation assessment

Assessment and referral into supervised pulmonary rehabilitation programs.

Sleep

Sleep services

Home sleep test device on a bedside table

Home sleep testing for snoring and sleep apnoea

For your convenience and comfort in your own bed, we perform home sleep tests — for those who qualify and those eligible for direct GP referral. We also perform basic oxygen monitoring and screening home sleep breathing tests.

Not all home sleep tests are the same. For the best possible data integrity, we get it right the first time — there’s no need to go elsewhere. We don’t want to expose patients to unnecessary costs repeating tests done elsewhere.

We can monitor overnight oximetry using Level 3 equipment (Apnealink study). Come into our Cabrini Brighton rooms to pick up your home oximetry equipment.

Come into Cabrini Brighton in the afternoon, where our friendly staff will fit — or show you how to fit — the diagnostic equipment for your home sleep test.

We also have six affiliated testing locations through National Sleep Diagnostics (St Albans, Pascoe Vale, Hawthorn, Cheltenham, Springvale and Narre Warren), with more coming.

Comprehensive in-laboratory sleep testing

Driver licence clinic

Occupational, commercial driving and rail workers.

Via telehealth or in person, we provide letters and access driver-licensing authority portals for your commercial and private vehicle requirements — including dangerous goods, taxi and bus drivers.

We use the Austroads Assessing Fitness to Drive guidelines, as well as the newly introduced rail transport workers standards.

We’ve been helping drivers and rail workers for over 20 years, with considerate, sympathetic reviews in difficult situations to help maintain your licensing.

Telehealth

Australia-wide for any sleep disorders. We may also be able to follow up respiratory disorders via telehealth once you’ve been initially assessed and examined.

Regional home sleep testing

Home sleep testing in regional areas through our affiliate National Sleep Diagnostics — in over 50 locations Australia-wide.

Affiliated services & specialist network

We’ve built a network of excellent clinicians across specialities related to sleep and respiratory medicine — from chest physiotherapy and complex lung function to cardiothoracic surgery, EBUS and sleep psychology. See the full network on our For Doctors page.
